Biography:
At the age of 75, Barbara Jo Gauthier published her first books, "Tying Threads"and "I Can Only Tell You What I Know."
Those who have read and enjoyed these books, describe them as vignettes, intimate portraits in black and white.
"Picture This" is her third book, followed by "Through a Telescope of Time." Her chapbook, "Do You Hear Me?" speaks to her grief for the loss of her 16yr old son in a tragic accident and little stories of him. Barbara reformatted and added more tales to "Tying Threads," thus the birth of "Tying Threads Twice." Since then, "I Can Only Tell You What I Know NOW" in its second reprint, also has additional stories, of more recent vintage.
Barbara has been a storyteller since her embellishment of an inappropriate incident, at an early age, in an attempt to interject humor, trying to escape punishment.
As a teen, she wrote an indiscreet article for the school newspaper, attaining instant notoriety. Ad-libbing the scripted words, in a high school play, and forgetting to bring her props on stage, she elicited mild hysteria from a confused audience.
Married, she journaled rhymed poetry, telling of adventure and misadventure, established a family newsletter which she continued for a number of relatively happy years.
Barbara's words grew to commiserate as well as celebrate. For thirty years, she penned therapeutic situational words, then spent later years creating motivational and spiritual guidelines for herself, in an effort to rise from the depths of depression.
Barbara currently resides in the Fox Valley, Wisconsin where she continues to be a "Weaver of Words."
