Biography:
Barry Wightman’s first novel, Pepperland, received a starred review on Booklist and won a 2014 Silver IPPY for best fiction from the Independent Publishers Book Awards. He has an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier, VT, and spent five years as fiction editor of Hunger Mountain, a journal of the arts. He is a speaker, lecturer, and has taught at literary conferences and workshops around the country. A long-time reviewer for the Washington Independent Review of Books, Wightman is also a professional voiceover talent and a Milwaukee NPR award-winning essayist. He is current president of the Wisconsin Writers Association and is Program Chair for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Waukesha Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books. Barry Wightman’s Sound & Script LLC provides writers of all genres with a wide range of literary, editorial, and voiceover services. Prior to all this, Wightman spent thirty years in high technology sales and marketing, with long experience in Asia and the Pacific.
