Biography:
Ronald Wallace is Felix Pollak Professor of Poetry Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was founder and Director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Program in Creative Writing (including the English Major with a Creative Writing Emphasis, the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, THE MADISON REVIEW literary magazine, the University of Wisconsin Press Poetry Series), and co-founder of the MFA Program in Creative Writing. He is the author of over 20 books and chapbooks of poetry, fiction, and criticism, including QUICK BRIGHT THINGS: STORIES, LONG FOR THIS WORLD: NEW AND SELECTED POEMS, FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY: POEMS, and FOR DEAR LIFE: POEMS. He is the recipient of many awards for his poetry and teaching, including the Helen Bullis Prize, the George Garrett Award, the Posner Poetry Prize, the Lynde and Harry Bradley Major Achievement Award, the Robert E. Gard Foundation Award, and others. Married, with two children and four grandchildren, he divides his time between Madison and a 40-acre farm in Bear Valley, Wisconsin.
